Richard Michael Jazz Summer Course

The jazz course where mistakes are COOL

The Richard Michael Jazz Summer Course is the number one Scottish jazz course for players of all ages and stages, with a focus on improvisation and playing with others. Players thrive in an environment where “mistakes are cool”.

The course is led by Professor Richard Michael, Honorary Professor of Jazz at St Andrews University. In a packed programme, participants enjoy masterclasses and combos under the supportive guidance of a stellar cast of professional tutors in brass, percussion, woodwind, bass, strings and voice. And in the evenings, everyone kicks back and jams until late on.

All this is delivered in the beautiful setting of Strathallan School, in rural Perthshire.
